Unfortunately, the roof upholstery was very ruined. The plastic carpet has aged and became ugly. When we touched it, tiny grains fell down. Of the several options, I ended up choosing the ribbed felt rug. It is very similar in structure to the original and was also color-appropriate. Disadvantage is that only one layer of material (no sponge layer) has the advantage of being much lighter than the original. (The original 4.8 kg was the new only 1.5 kg)
The work was hard. My wife and I did it for several days. All the furniture had to be removed, but the biggest task was to completely remove the old layer. We also used power tools but most of Kati worked on the roof cleaning.
I was looking for the right glue for a long time. High temperature and humidity tolerant industrial adhesives were required. We took the carpet back at least three times until we managed to fit it exactly.
It was a big job, but I am happy with the end result.
